David Choe’s wide variety of work covers a range of media and provides a diverse set of narratives. A couple of the pieces shown here reflect a foray away from the urban centres, such as Two Dogs (somehow not a relaxing punt down the river) and We Can Still Be Friends, which is a glorious colour study of birch bark. However, the more citified Waiting For Food is certainly a contemporary riff on a classic, in terms of commercial establishments, while the Huge Spraypainted Stickers give us more urban insight into Choe’s works. This artist has tremendous energy that results in exciting work.
