I happened to be in the back rooms of the National Gallery of Canada one day and peered through a glass door of one of the studios. Lo and behold, I was not ready for the shock of Ron Mueck's giant baby head being readied for its exhibit. And of course no one would believe my description of just what a giant head it was, at least not until it emerged onto the floor of the contemporary gallery to shock all and sundry. So of course it must absolutely be in the Top 3. And it hasn’t become any smaller …
