In order to capture the essence of his subjects, Stanley Goldstein acts as a voyeur while putting his paint to canvas. This is especially true of his Dancer series where the viewer is left with the feeling of having peeped through the window of the dance studio while standing in the bushes. The brightly-dressed vendors at the fair have also been caught mid-action or mid-thought while carrying out their work selling corn dogs or lemonade.
