Naseema Khan is a San Francisco photographer working with mixed media who sees life as more than a bowl of cherries. Inserted into the hyperrealist fruit are fragments of Nietzsche’s “Beyond Good and Evil”, a text that challenges the concepts of meaning and reason. The combination of philosophy with the simplicity of the fruit pushes the viewer to question that which may have been taken for granted. Fruit seems to be one of life’s basics, but upon further reflection, is this really so?
