Art Game Book by David Rosenberg is not actually chock full of games and quizzes about modern art, as we first thought it would be, but turns out to be a handy compendium of twentieth century art history. Rosenberg makes the facts in this volume easily accessible, starting with the fauvists and covering most movements over the last hundred years. And yes, the information is spliced with a few ‘match the quote to the artist’ or ‘guess the painting by way of the detail’ sections. Our assessment? Useful and practical in an easy-to-digest format.
