Liz Rideal’s medium of choice is the humble photo booth where she takes strip photos of all manner of veil and other assorted airborne materials. Rideal assembles photo collages of her strips and will often enlarge these so that the resulting c-print becomes the final product. Working with coloured veils allows the artist to play with the colours and transparency of the scarves in order to provide a variety of ‘poses’ for every frame and a composition that is at once eye-catching, yet soothing.
