Mixed Media | Feb 24, 2006

The works of Miriam Wosk are so very varied that it is difficult to identify one clear style. Wosks collages are mostly paper-based, making use of vintage cutouts from a wide range of subjects. Her watercolours are fantasies of symmetry, her mixed media paintings can be abstract or cubist, her anatomical drawings have been cheerfully embellished. Aha! The link is the mix itself, the range of hues and mandalas, the intermingling of sequins with wallpaper. And, boy, does it work.
