"Water XI"
by sabine7 / February 26, 2006

Clifford Ross aims to provide moments of emotional delight while capturing the excitement of nature on film. He writes that “life is momentarily heightened beyond normal experience and permanently altered as a result” and this forms his goal in creating art through what he sees. The black and white works of Ross are often about water in all its emotion, either calm or raging. It is interesting to note that instead of explaining his methodology in words, Ross prefers instead to show what it is he does, by way of photograph, of course.
