Canadian Steven Shearer is the creator of collages of found images that he collects from just about everywhere, mostly from the Internet. The impact of a couple hundred decorated Christmas trees, all upside down, is hard to beat. Or the lone guitarist surrounded by over fifty tool sheds. A brilliant collage is Repose. It is restful in that Shearer presents us with sleeping subjects, but the sheer number of them gives a wide-awake energy and vibrancy to the work. And as for Guys, well, it’s pretty hard not to be overwhelmed by that many at one go…
