Not only does Ken Polinskie paint colourful insects and animals, but he creates the paper upon which he works as well. The paper is first made from pulp, then a drawing, in reverse, is applied with liquid pulp to the papermaking mold and pressed into the first sheet while still wet. Once thousands of pounds of pressure are applied, all the elements are fused together to result in Polinskie’s pressed paper pulp paintings.
