"Moulding for Somewhere"
Kevin Zucker takes architectural computer drawings and transfers them to paintings to create his version of the sublime. Zucker will often superimpose elements such as chairs, stereos, chandeliers, curtains or mirrors onto grid patterns that lend depth to the pictures. He will paint and glaze the transferred image, careful not to cover up any flaws that may occur during the transfer process. In keeping the imperfections, Zucker reminds the viewer that the image has gone from a notional form on the computer to the physical world of the painting.
