Haroldo Grossi is a Brazilian painter who started making paper soldiers and placing them in historical battlefield backgrounds when he was a child. Today his work is often a mixture of dimensionality and he still inserts his paper soldiers into many of his scenes. Parallel Universe is a haunting walk in the woods, observing the bowler-hatted paper figure flanked by orange-coveralled keepers, knowing that neither party has really connected.
