Yoffy’s Save the Children series, combining humour, poignancy and deceptively cheerful colours, is simple and to the point. Orange Alert if the local priest, Boy Scout leader, or Michael Jackson are seen leading along any child by the hand. His Tetris installation is also clean – forty-eight canvases arranged in a Tetris-like formation. Yoffy’s acrylics on canvas are all about bright colours (he doesn’t use black – too negative) and smooth lines, bringing to mind tendencies of the 60’s and 70’s. Funky portraiture, especially of celebs like the Beatles and Andy Warhol.
