Sculpture the Ride is an installation created by six sculpture students at Southern Oregon University. Built out of steel tubes, casters and wood over a period of four hundred collective hours, Sculpture the Ride is a scaled down version (very) of a classic rollercoaster. Although created as a gallery installation, Sculpture the Ride is also accompanied by a set of still photographs that show off the piece’s angles quite nicely. There is a short video as well, showing the group testing out the working sculpture and lending credence to the idea of experiencing art. Oh, and don’t forget the waiver.
