The Kunsthalle Bielefeld is currently holding a George Condo retrospective called One Hundred Women which features a mix of paintings, drawings and sculptures from this American artist who landed in Andy Warhol’s Factory upon his youthful arrival in NYC. The women are represented in a wide variety of styles, very few of them traditional portraiture. Condo may not opt for the traditional, but he does incorporate styles borrowed from influences such as Velasquez, Dali, Bacon and Picasso, to name but a few.
Artist: George Condo
One Hundred Women runs until August 14.
