Dutch painter Lily Van der Stokker specializes in large-scale wall paintings that are designed for specific sites, sometimes including furniture or blocks that are built out from the wall so that the viewer can sit and think a spell. Although Van der Stokker once said that she would like “to put more ugliness in the world, because beauty doesn’t work and maybe has had its time”, her wall paintings are really quite decorative with their girlish doodles and colours.
