Italian artist Alessandro Twombly, known primarily for his sculptures, recently held an exhibition of his paintings in Geneva. Although his work often approaches abstraction, Twombly ensures that the link with nature remains strong. His flowers can be somewhat flame- or torch-like, but most consistent is his use of colour and repetition of form. However, a group of students visiting the exhibition likened Twombly’s images to strawberries and ice creams.
