Be aware. Be very aware of Dutch avant-garde fashion duo Viktor & Rolf’s curatorial stint at the Mori Art Museum this winter. In collaboration with the Kyoto Costume Institute, this cheeky design team set about highlighting the use of colour in the history of fashion. The exhibition’s five rooms focused on the roles of different hues: black, blue, multi, red/yellow and white, shown through the work of a variety of influential designers. Now if only we can catch another such show before they go mainstream…

Excellent opportunity! This show will be opening at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in NY on December 2, 2005, running till April 9, 2006. Phew, still a decent chance to catch it.
