"The Window Ledge"
by sabine7 / March 21, 2005

Paul Critchley is all about point of view – literally. Many of his supra-realist paintings are of interiors, or windows and doors that open to reveal a hidden interior or corners that open out. Few are canvases of regular shapes – most take on a shape that represents multiple viewpoints that lends dimensionality to the work. These domestic scenes have an air of mystery about them, yet Critchley reveals only enough to keep us guessing at the truth of the painting’s story.
