The Art Basel half of Art Basel / Design Miami is around the corner (June 8 in Basel, CH) and we just received an invite to see designer Ted Noten at the show. He'll be showing works from Haunted by 36 Women; "Many types of women have inspired Ted Noten in making his new series of work. Assemblages, rings, necklaces, bracelets and brooches in many different colors, materials and sizes are the result of a one year survey through the world of women. Featuring: the Fashionista collection, the Icecream Girl collection and the Femme Fatale collection." Not sure what collection the pieces above are from, but Haunted looks interesting, even more so is Ted Noten's website splash page...

Another highlight of NY Design Week was the 400 Years Later - Cite Goes Dutch exhibition in SoHo. Curators Alissia Melka-Teichroew and Jan Habraken skipped on the big names, opting instead to invite 23 emerging designers to showcase their work. The pieces, ranging from furniture to jewelry, were both playful and clever, reflective of the designers who grew up in the, "densely populated Netherlands...below sea level and under heavy gray skies."

The Lazerian studio Dayia Brooch is hand made from high quality polypropylene, selected brass fittings and a silver stick pin. More after the jump.

Adnan from Wristfashion.com is attending the Baselworld 2009 watch show and tipped us to the new Hamilton ODC X-02 watch. The latest creation of the Hamilton Lab tells time in three time zones at once. The case is modeled on the cross-section of an aircraft's wing and has three separate oblong dials that show the time in a different location. A valve-like pusher at the top of each dial allows for the setting of three independent times. "Viewed from the side, these resemble miniature telescopes with easy-to-grip tips. The analog time display in each of the three sections is close to the pusher, giving the impression that it is floating to the surface of the dial window." More after the jump.
