Other accessories that held appeal at Maison & Objet ranged in materials from wood to metal to ceramic. Konstantin Slawinski had a fantastic pasta measuring device that also helps spaghetti ease into the pot and the Diva by Casa Bugatti comes in such an assortment of colours that it was hard to miss. Ibride has a new modular vase shaped container series with soft graphics on the inside and Fish Design had some fantastic vases of resin and ceramic, while Qubus and Kose had their lines of ceramicware.

Jewellery by Darkcloud Silver for Oye Modern is a collection of urban music symbols (including spray can!) in sterling silver. The limited run collection is handmade in Sydney by Nathan Thomas who works his passion for music, hip hop culture and design into playful pieces not everyone else is wearing. The Santa Monica Museum of Art celebrates its twentieth anniversary with a set of limited edition plates designed by a dozen contemporary artists. The black and white 14" dinner plates bear the work of artists like Raymond Pettibon, Charles Gaines, Joe Goode, Ivaro Siza and Kota Ezawa and are a great way to launch right into a contemporary art collection.

British/Irish design collective UsTogether has officially launched their glass sided Ebb bathroom line plus two new designs, Loop and Line. Loop includes a freestanding bath and matching recliner as well as graphic panels on the side which allows for customization. Line is the latest addition to the range, "a solid form centred around the concept of diminishing lines, the structures of the sink and bath are not interrupted by fixtures". All water flow mechanisms are hidden from view and are motion-activated. The forms are augmented by hidden light panels with various color options. The bath fills via a waterfall which flows down over the surface of the light panel while the sink fills with four flow options: a blade of water for washing hands, a light shower for rinsing and hot and cold jets of water for shaving or brushing teeth.

Out of the furniture offerings at Maison & Objet, we were most attracted by all manner of chair, especially the upholstery on the pieces by the Ateliers Philippe Coudray and the cosy knitted merino poufs and throws by Casalis, like little ottoman sweaters. Nicky D Essentials had some great group seating and Swala Line ‘s pieces varied between smooth and textured. Kenneth Cobonpue made a showing and Massant had a wide range of patterns to present, while the Crassevig chair came in different colours and finishes.

Elise Fouin is a French designer who works with a variety of everyday materials to create new, functional objects. Some of her more interesting pieces are part of her paper collection, which includes light fixtures made from re-used rolls of receipts, above, and furniture such as her paper-stuffed armchair and wastepaper basket, after the jump.
