For round three with 266 votes in to date at 38.7%, "Are there any things or categories of things that you won't design? Why?" is the leader. Is that the question? Or is one of these four below?

We're on our quest for the best interview questions, too many to vote on at the same time, so we're asking you to vote a few times this week on batches of questions - the top three questions as voted by you will go to a final voting round next week. Here below is the fourth and last set of questions. Vote for as many as you think worthy.

Which interview questions below do you like best?
Select up to 4 of the following:
Art Deco, Mid-Century, Post-Modern… is it possible to describe the ‘design’ era we're currently in?
If you had to describe your work as a scent, a signature fragrance, what would it be like?
Is style superficial unless the product evolves the function/system of the object?
If it is true that God is preparing a house for you in heaven, what will yours look like?

MoCo Loco Shop today; Harry Allen’s Reality Fruit Bowl, part of a series of objects whose form is “sampled” from existing sources. From the designer’s website, “form should no longer be the driving force in design, Reality gives him the opportunity to further explore this idea…”, and more.

+ The V&A and PlayStation present Volume a luminous interactive installation created by United Visual Artists and one point six. "Volume responds spectacularly to human movement, creating a series of audio-visual experiences. Step inside and see your actions at play with the energy fields throughout the space, triggering a brilliant display of light and sound.". Via Dexigner.

japan_times_on_design.jpg
+ Jean Snow's Japan Times On Design column; "As TDW's 100% Design Tokyo trade show was the place to find the products most likely to be seen in stores in 2007, I chose it as the source of my picks for next year's most promising new Japanese designs.".

ikea_500_homes_uk.jpg
+ "Ikea has outlined its plans to build at least 500 identical homes across the UK each year, starting with sites in Gateshead and Scotland. Don't forget your allen key.". Via Archinect. 500 identical homes, why? Ikea can do better than that. They owe it to themselves, and everyone else.

One of a kind

schleeh_design_striped_morp.jpg
Treehugger’s Lloyd tipped us to some interesting products he saw at Toronto’s One of a Kind crafts show, says Lloyd, “almost all of the ones I liked were from Quebec; Machin Chouette takes old record albums and mounts them in frames, which hold CD's in jewel boxes, Schleeh Design makes desktop furnishings and some tables but what is really amazing is his paper invention, sort of like post it notes that you can twist and turn into sculptural forms (above), Serge Tardif and Nathalie Morin make tableware with very thin veneers of wood, talk about less is more - there is almost nothing there and Peter Harris’ paintings of subjects of extraordinary banality actually work, the Esso stations and roads are really impressive.”. Thanks Lloyd!
