+ Lloyd Alter was at IIDEX too and he send us this picture of Keilhauer's Tablett chair. Tablett, designed by EOOS, is a comfy armchair with a difference, a “discreet functionality”, a tablet arm that swings out for use with a laptop or for writing. Says Lloyd; “I wish I had desks like this when I was in school.”.

We visited the IIDEX Neocon in Toronto this week. Designer Patty Johnson launched a new model of viable design & craft collaboration called North South Project. The project spans the globe to bring sustainable and socially-conscious design objects made in the Southern hemisphere to the Northern market. Our favorites were the beautiful traditional African motifs in bowls by the Etsha weavers, and the Wai Wai weavers lighting. More after the jump. JGB

+ Designer Scott Wilson has created two more designs for nursery furniture maker Ooba. Nest Crib is a veneered bent ply crib with the same iconic styling as the Nest Bassinet. The crib can also convert to a toddler daybed. The new Play table can also convert, from the bassinet to the table - the shell becomes a toy bin. See more after the jump. Thanks Karyn!

London's Studio Make Light was showing it's modular Pong light with "24 clip-on pong modules". Check out Make's Director light after the jump, it has a counter weight mechanism that allows light to be directed at different parts of a room.

Got this in the mail today. Wallet 2.0 is not your average wallet, it’s “the wallet from the future”, the Web 2.0 future it appears. Unlike other new concept wallets we’ve seen, this one is made of soft silicone and can bend. Basically a flip top container, it contains organizer/planner-like “refill sheets” designed for use with the wallet. There are five types of refill sheets - bill, coins, ID, credit cards and “other” - there are more sheets on the way. What do you think? Leave a comment.
