Dutch design with flavors of China.
A pillow with meaning and a portable wooden chair are just two objects in a new collection scheduled for launch at the upcoming Milan Furniture Fair by Dutch design firm Studio Ditte. We'll be looking out for the other items inspired by daily life in China; a rubber garden carpet, a bookcase with sticks and leather jewelry with "powerful mythological symbols".

Printed grass/fur acrylic chairs.
It's the newest part of a larger collection of acrylic furniture with bold graphic prints that includes chairs, armchairs, tables, stools and deck chairs. Made of Altuglas, "a transparent plastic similar to plexiglas, but purer", the graphics range from plants, furs, liquids, crumpled metal, to old leather. Via Land+Living.

Transparent tubular bracelet.
Designer Franz Schnaas makes "body furniture" for your wrist. Handcrafted jewelry that ranges from "minimal Japanesque to highly gestural, with sliding components which add to their structure or dangling pistils that double as adjusting straps. Some mimic sea bottom creatures, others resemble slick, otherworldly, archetypal ritual objects.". All are thoroughly different and new. Thanks Sally!

Campana brothers interpret Jelly Shoes.
We rarely (read never) cover footwear, but this was too tempting. Brazilian shoe manufacturer Melissa has teamed up with designer brothers the Campanas to create their own version of the Melissa standard. There's a Campana bag too. Thanks Charmaine!

Design oriented residential development.
Dallas based developer Urban Edge Developers builds single- and multi-family contemporary residences. Lots of them. They use modern construction methods and materials, "such as a combination of concrete and steel in the construction of foundations and walls... (that) also reduce material degradation, which produces savings in maintenance costs year after year.". And they've also just launched Urban Reserve, "a neighborhood of modern, single-family homes, created by a select group of regionally and nationally recognized architects.".
