Stereo-lithography furniture.
From designer Patrick Jouin comes an invitation to preview his latest designs (works of art?) made using stereo-lithography, a process also known as 3D layering or 3D printing, which allows the creation of solid, plastic, three-dimensional (3D) objects from CAD drawings in a matter of hours. 3D printing is almost always interesting, but it's what you print that counts, the output. Mr. Jouin has outdone himself, his new furniture is truly inspired, as you can see in the images in the extended post. In fact, the inspiration is juxtaposed with the 3D print in question.

Modernist dollhouse.
Italy's likeabike.it has more photos of the plywood modernist dollhouse made by Germany's Sirch. The house appears to come equipped with modern furniture including a minimalist table, chairs and bed, as well as kitchen and bath counters and fixtures. And there's an indoor swimming pool no less.

Bent ply toy car.
Hand made by Germany's Sirch and found on Japan's Scope 4senses Interior website, this is one of many plywood toys made by Sirch. Features steam-curved plywood and "whisper-quiet" plastic wheels that can be used both inside and outside. There's a trailer for Max called Lorette, as well as some push carts and Olga the modern play horse. Via Land + Living where you can catch a glimpse of the MoCo dollhouse created by Sirch's designers, Wolfgang Sirch and Christoph Bitzer.

Outdoor lighting system.
The most exciting things to happen in outdoor lighting in the last decade were the advent of solar power and LEDs. It didn’t actually change design much, with the exception of making the lights even more square than before and/or brighter. Designer Alain Monnens sends us this new outdoor lighting system, Flower, which, with its "elegantly curved form of the mounting bar looks as though it might have been shaped by nature itself". The system is made to easily integrate into shrub and plant borders, but works just as well sited at the edge of a lawn. The 'flower" is available with a pin or fixed base and is fitted with a compact low-energy 23W lamp.

New style vacuum cleaner.
Russian design firm Art. Lebedev was hired to create this "new style of an old vacuum cleaner" to be built in Russia. Users of Shop-Vac's will know that this is a more ergonomic, and more practical form for a vacuum. From the same design firm that created the TaskWatch wall organizer and the barcode posters.

Yard furniture by the architect.
Italian manufacturer Heller's indoor / outdoor furniture collection is a "group of three cubes, a bench, an easy chair, a coffee table / sitting unit, and a sofa, in silver resin.". Functional sculpture for your garden. But then that's to be expected from Gehry. What's truly surprising is that the collection starts at $200 (per piece of course).
