Weld Bag by Joris de Groot

Industrially inspired: Weld Bag by Joris de Groot adapts a fold normally used to make plastic shopping bags, and synthetic fabric welding, to create a line that includes a shopping tote, sports and beach bags, and a laptop briefcase.

Details: Made from PVC, synthetic netting, and leather for handles. Developed as a graduation project, in collaboration with Dolfing Druten, a manufacturer of work clothes, rain gear and waterbeds, using high frequency welding. Exhibited at Milan Design Week 2014 as part of Workmates.
