Study of Time / I Wall Installation by Random International
by Harry / December 13, 2013

Flashes of time: Study Of Time / I Wall Installation by Random International presents a solid slab of black Corian, studded with LED-equipped, computer-controlled copper masts that play with pulses of light and shadow to reveal numbers - hours, minutes, seconds - in fleeting glimpses.

Originally created as an extension of the studio's scenography for FAR, a 2010 contemporary dance production by Wayne McGregor.

Random, founded by Stuart Wood, Florian Ortkrass and Hannes Koch in 2005, uses "raw fragments of artificial intelligence" to create art installations that also include the fascinating Rain Room.
