Nathan Yong has created a collection of furniture with a cage-like appearance that's named after a fictional animated yellow canary.

Says Yong, like the Looney Tunes cartoon, "Tweety's cage protects Tweety from harm caused by Sebastian the cat. But when it is used in a real life human context, it raises the question of whether we are protecting the human from the natural harm outside or are we preventing the human from harming the natural world."

The inside-outside dynamics of cages are particularly appropriate considering Yong designed the collection for outdoor use and, says he, "other than just providing comfort, it makes us question our role in protecting the nature."
