The Quilted Wood Daybed was designed for The Thread That Binds Us exhibtion curated by Barbara Brondi and Marco RainĂ² at Plusdesign Gallery during Milan Design Week 2012.

With Quilted Wood Strozyk shows a process using paper thin wood veneer to produce a hybrid of marquetry and traditionally quilted textiles.

The furniture object, a daybed, is based on a found piece from the 1950's. Says Strozyk, "The fabric appears to be a common upholstery textile but transforms into a free grown shape which is autonomous from the furniture piece."
