Quarter Pie Stools by Crisan, Ijpelaar, van Eijk and Van Maele

A stool made of slices of foam and wood that look like cake was the inspired solution to the challenge of making furniture with a clamping ring.

Designed by Nienke Ijpelaar, Pim van Eijk, Ligia Crisan, Janwillem Van Maele, "Our thoughts went out to a structure that falls apart when the pressure is released of the clamping ring. The result is a stool that changes in heights through different pieces."

Quarter Pie was created for the exhibition 'Yes! we're Open' by Thomas Lommée at the Innovation Festival Kortrijk in Belgium.
