Located at the corner of Kenmare and Elizabeth Streets, The Nolitan Hotel is the first boutique hotel to grace Nolita (derived from "NOrth of Little ITAly"), a neighborhood in Manhattan bounded on the north by Houston Street, on the east by the Bowery, on the south roughly by Broome Street, and on the west by Lafayette Street.

The lobby lounge features a sunken seating area with a double height ceiling.

Designed by New York City based practice Grzywinski+Pons, The Nolitan has 55 rooms in a hotel design that "emphasizes connectivity with the architecture of Nolita."

The ground floor has a glass fa├žade, integrating the hotel into the neighborhood around it.

Some guests will be able to enjoy the street life from private balconies; other guests floor to ceiling windows in their rooms that provide an unobstructed view of the neighborhood and the skyline. The use of channel glass in the rooms opens up the space to the streetscape below without compromising privacy.

Guest rooms come in a variety of shapes and sizes (eight types to be exact) and fall into one of two categories; Neighborhood rooms and Cityscape rooms - some with private balconies and the others with floor to ceiling windows.

Most guest rooms have an open bathroom layout and a separate WC.

"Since The Nolitan is about feeling at home and like a part of the community, creating comfortable and welcoming public spaces in the hotel was essential. The Nolitan features a lobby lounge, the on-site restaurant ellabess and a breathtaking rooftop."

The Nolitan's restaurant, ellabess, will open in July, a seasonal American restaurant headed by acclaimed chef Troy Unruh and operated by Epicurean Management, the hospitality company whose restaurants include New York City's dell'anima, L'Artusi and Anfora.

The 70-seat ellabess restaurant and lounge is also designed by Grzywinski+Pons, and features two full walls of windows, providing natural light throughout the space and enabling guests to watch the activity in the neighborhood.

On top of the hotel The Nolitan's landscaped rooftop will offer 2,400 square feet of deck space with city views of downtown, midtown, and Brooklyn.

And among the many amenties that will be offered to guests - Nolitan branded skateboards and bicycles for loan at the front desk, so you can really hit the streets.
