by sabine7 / February 4, 2011

This week at Art MoCo: Embroidered photos, felt cityscapes, 3D thread spirograph drawings, distressed snapshots and a woolly man-of-war. See the rest of the week at Art MoCo after the jump.

This week we looked at a few selections from Hard Twist 5: Chroma, an exhibition of textile art held at Toronto's Gladstone Hotel. Mafalda Silva started us off with embroidered photos.

Kerry Croghan's felted urban landscapes are simple yet effective reminders of our rectangular living.

week_mccavour.jpg
Childhood spirograph drawings come to life in fluo orange renditions in thread by Amanda McCavour.

week_bailey.jpg
More embellished photography - this time from Fiona Bailey, who uses wool to highlight features on distressed snapshots.

week_saladbration.jpg
Sarah Waldman-Engel's Saladbration sports colourful tendrils (or tentacles!) that curl down from a cosy cap.
