The burning splint that conjures up images of "dim, smoky huts and cabins" has been reinterpreted as the Päre light by Tapio Anttila.

To be shown in September at the second EcoDesign Special Exhibition, held as part of Helsinki's Habitare 2010, the Päre splints are made from a renewable natural material, with a stainless steel base that reflects the light.

The holder, spare splints and matches can be stored inside the case. Päre is a good match for terraces, balconies and summer homes.
