The cycle of wood is the basis for the Second Skin line of furniture by Lotte van Laatum.

A tree is transformed into lumber in order to make furniture, and then the wood is given back its shape to make the pieces in this collection.

This wood is taken from secondhand furniture and put through a 3D milling process after gathered branches have been scanned to give back a natural shape.

The upholstery reflects the notion of nature's overgrowth. The new furniture has a conical shape, inspired by the way a tree grows.

This reminds me of the Le Corbusier, Revolving Armchair from 1928.
