When ambiguity is the focus, Guy Keulemans' Object for Atheists fits the bill.

In an inversion of typical function, shelving is hidden at the back of the cabinet, which creates a secret that "supersedes the secrets of the drawers" at the front.

According to Keulemans' research on the influence of religion on aesthetics and a look into online atheist groups, his concept is "positioned as a metaphor for the continual drive of atheists to uncover and expose the mysteries of science, religion and life."

While I think the conceptual piece is finely made. I think the concept is too weak to consider it true design. "positioned as a metaphor for the continual drive of atheists to uncover and expose the mysteries of science, religion and life". This statement pre-supposes that 1) all atheist's seek this goal, and 2) that they are all capable of it. Not to mention how it undermines the importance of religion, not as law, but in not only shaping our culture, but challenging science to get us where we are today. There is no mystery here, just pretension.
