Forgetfulness by Stijn van der Vleuten

Despite all good intentions, we surround ourselves with countless objects; some are in plain view, while others are hidden out of sight and therefore end up out of mind. Although many items have too much value to be thrown away, few are worthy of display

Forgetfulness is a project by Stijn van der Vleuten that addresses this very concept. His series of chests of drawers force the user to really think about the items being stored.

One chest is so narrow that objects must be carefully culled; another has drawers that stick out, so the user must decide which items should remain visible.

A double-sided drawer allows some items to hide, while others remain in the limelight.
