Organized by design studio yksi, Outside the bOx, a Dutch Design Week exhibition, puts the focus on the box itself as a material (and sometimes the brand).

Some of Yksi's pieces, such as the chair above and the room divider below, are made from empty cardboard carpet tubes.

Often inspired by Frank Gehry's work with cardboard during the 1970s, designers today are taking advantage of this material's lower cost, versatility, availability and easy processing to include it in their work.
