Corn Craft: Crop by Nacho Carbonell
by Jaime / September 29, 2009

Design studios contributing to the Corn Craft exhibition curated by Studio Toogood and Gallery FUMI kept the focus on corn and wheat. Nacho Carbonell used corn resin, corn juice, ground corn, barley, wheat, oats, cornflakes, and steel rod reinforcements for furniture in the Crop collection designed to evoke the textures and colours of the cornfield. Raw-Edges Design Studio made a table of dry wheat set in wooden frames, and plates were planted within the stalks of wheat. The theme continued throughout the space, thanks to Rowan Mersh's hanging installation composed of wheat, barley and oats strung onto mono-filament wire.
