Chair Arch by Martino Gamper
Wallpaper* magazine commissioned designer Martino Gamper to create a modern-day Chair Arch for the London Design Festival. Using Ercol stacking chairs as his building blocks, Gamper built two overlapping arches in the courtyard of the Victoria & Albert Museum. Chair arches, which are part of a British Victorian tradition, were constructed to commemorate special occasions.

It creates a beautiful effect.
Very striking! It could be easily adapted into a Chinese Dragon motif.
Nice to know there is a sense of tradition behind it, as it appears very similar to The Glue Society's multi-coloured chair arch for 42 Below vodka.

Sweet!!! How many chairs does it take to make a chair arch?
I have found #s ranging from 120 -160, but there isn't anything official on Gamper's page.
