Bottleformball Pendant by Heath Nash
by Jaime / September 18, 2009

Lighting designer Heath Nash recently presented at the Pecha Kucha Night that was part of Helsinki Design Week. He discussed some of his new work in which he utilizes the unique forms of plastic bottles, rather than cutting out his own shapes. The series includes Pod, an elongated pendant made from the handles, Bottlesplice, constructed from continuous strips of the whole container and Bottleformball (above), crafted from the remnants of many different found pieces. The designer also had a workshop set-up where participants could work on building their own plastic pendant.

I can't help but think of Katamari Damacy when I look at that lamp.
