Hot Wax Wineglasses by Pascal Smelik
A recent graduate of the School of the Arts in Utrecht, Pascal Smelik places the focus on unique shapes. Smelik kiln casts wax pieces that are created by dropping hot candle wax into a box of cold water. The liquid becomes solid and floats to the surface, creating elongated shapes that are used for the stems. The bowl of the glass is shaped by dipping a balloon full of water into a bucket of hot candle wax. Kiln cast, break open et voilĂ : the wineglass is complete. Smelik has used a similar technique with a 2-litre injection needle to create other shapes and forms.

Wow, I love those. Super cool. They're so sculptural.
Wow Pascal,
very proud of you, your design is 'on the internet' that's part 1 (100 to go..)
