In the Venn diagram of chair design, Kartell would be the overlap when looking at work by Philippe Starck and Tokujin Yoshioka. Despite vastly different signatures such as Starck's sleek styling and Yoshioka's attention to materials, these two designers have created a wide range of chairs that we saw as prototypes and are now products for the Italian firm. Taking a look at Starck's work, one is always left with a lasting impression of smooth and shiny, while Yoshioka is consistent in terms of the unexpected.

Wow! I like the colored stripe on the back. These stripes create a warm environment. Unfortunately these stripes take more space than the chairs.

While these chairs do look really interesting, they also look really uncomfortable and you probably couldn't sit in them for longer than half an hour without feeling some pain.
