Bottleclip by Matthias Ries
by Harry / June 30, 2009

Bottleclip is a simple clip for common plastic water bottles, it snaps on to any standard bicycle frame and replaces the bottle's cap, simply turn the bottle in the threaded holder and the bottle stays in place. More after the jump.

Jesus that's smart

no that is not smart

that is stupid

this problem has been solved already, by bottle cages, and no amount of photoshop color manipulation is going to make this a good idea

So when I want a drink, I have to unscrew the bottle and then screw it back in? Really? Simple bottle cage is FAR easier. This would be awkward while riding. I guess I could just come to a complete stop any time I wanted to take a drink. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense...

Ya know, the inventor should really have tried this before posting it. That bottle weighs anywhere from 1.5-2 kg, and the plastic threads are not designed to support that weight, and neither is a double-butted top tube supposed to hold weight at its thinnest and weakest point.

This would be fun with soda.

This gadget could only go from stupid idea to ridiculous reality in the world of hipsters. Who either lazily walk their bikes around, or leisurely cruise from pad to park. At anything above walking pace, that bottle is going to fall off. Dumbest accessory I ever saw.

It looks like a pendulum waiting to smack your shins and knee caps. The typical user might not like the marred up top tube either. Booooh!

DUMB, guess the clip will fit only his bike

Sorry man. Try again.

Wow. I can't believe there are so many lame-ass haters out there. Do you nerds even ride bikes? Or drink water?

Freddy Fast Hands / July 12, 2009 at 10:56 AM / Flag

Yes Freddy, I am an industrial designer, I do ride my bike and I do drink water while riding, home to work, mon-fri, 10 miles every day at least, and yes, this is stupid. This thing won't fit my bike. I don't want bruises in my legs from the bottle swinging of just plain falling from it because the bottle somehow got between my calves and hamstrings. I don't want to thread/un-thread my bottle while riding, risking my self/bike/job/family/money/etc.

And what if you ride your bike to work and need some place to hold your coffeecup. Look what I have on my bike: www.cuptogo.nl

Much easier in use than this bottleholder!

Wieske / July 22, 2009 at 5:03 AM / Flag

it would fit nicely in a world full of people pimping their bike. in this world, most people actually make use of their bikes.

adrien / July 22, 2009 at 12:13 PM / Flag

And women on bikes dont need to drink water?? Where would we use this?
