Ivy by Paola Navone
by Harry / June 23, 2009

Inspired by the ancient art of topiary designer Paola Navone created the Ivy collection for Italian outdoor furniture maker EMU. The collection is now available in North America via Coalesse. Combining "the ornamental pruning of trees and hedges to create 'furniture sculpture'" and "exploiting the ingenuity, creativity and the extreme versatility of metal" resulted in a light and minimal collection of outdoor sofas, chairs and tables. The objects are made to be left outdoors where it can be grown into by ivy "like statues, and those who sit on it will fully experience the feeling of being immersed in nature."

Made of steel, I would guess. Awesome design but I think the downside would be it's durability, expose this to sunlight and rain it will corrode in no time.
