One of the gems among the exhibitions taking place in the Meatpacking District during ICFF was NY LOCAL curated by designboom. Eleven of the "big apple's best transplants, expats, design veterans and rising stars," took part in show, which was held in the 414 Gallery. Though the gallery itself was overcrowded with several other less organized exhibits, NY local stood out as a cohesive sampling of New York design. More after the jump.

Highlights of the exhibition included RichBrilliantWilling's series of Matryoshka tables and Paul Loebach's Himmeli light, which was inspired by Finnish Christmas ornaments. Jason Miller had a version of his Glimmer cabinet on display, the surface of which changed color as you moved around it. Two playful twists on lighting came from Kiel Mead and Garth Roberts, in the form of a Birdie pendant and altered science flask, respectively.
