Moroso 2009
by sabine7 / May 7, 2009

Moroso presented some of the most interesting and varied work at the Salone this year, so as a stand it was one of the most memorable overall. New designs ranged from Diesel's Xray line of glass tables and screens to the folkloric textiles and techniques used by Patricia Urquiola and Tord Boontje. Tokujin Yoshioka, however, used a non-traditional furniture material in a very up-to-date fashion by creating the Paper Cloud sofa. Philippe Bestenheider's Nanook chairs were quite a tidy contrast to his Binta series or to Boontje's Shadowy armchairs in the M'Afrika series.

That crate sofa is gorgeous. Ironic that this post should feature the xray table. This was featured on Ikea Hacker this morning: http://ikeahacker.blogspot.com/2009/05/bone-box.html

I think that Urquiola's interesting sofa Fergana deserves much more attention that it was given - it is an example of the new trend where design is going now - crafts used in the most modern way with ethnic motives applied through embroidery on leather - s.th. quite unusual!

Wow, I really loved the rug under Diesel's furniture.. Does someone know if it´s manufactured like that or it's just an old run down rug?

I love those x ray tables...one of my favorite designs from Milan this year.
