Monday, 5 p.m. There is a quiet buzz of preparation throughout Zona Tortona. Trucks everywhere, a sense of expectation. A painter slaps on Veuve Clicquot's signature shade of orange onto a wall outside the space at Superstudio. I sneak a peak at the Tom Dixon lamps waiting to be displayed in the window. Elsewhere, in the centre, Via Monte Napoleone is decked out in huge lampshades and vinyl lettering goes onto windows. There are also familiar Milan sights: the wedding cake of a duomo and Marilyn's dress blowing up above a grill. And wait, is that Gary Coleman? And if so, why?
More images after the jump, and daily Milan 2009 tweets at twitter.com/freshmoco.
