From A Lost City is a project by Christian Vivanco that can be used as a desk or work surface with plenty of drawers for storage. The piece has been inspired by shanty towns that are made up of irregular units, often constructed by the inhabitants. In conversation with a Brazilian friend, Vivanco realized that despite the often hostile environment of the favelas, people do manage to find joy through simplicity. Vivanco celebrates this life experience in this project as a design exercise as well as an expression of respect for the favelados. As such, he uses a variety of dimensions and materials for the piece, but creates relationships that work together as a whole.
