Saligia by Thomas Von Staffeldt
by sabine7 / January 16, 2009

Saligia is the Latin acronym for the Seven Deadly Sins and in this case also the name of seven redesigns of Arne Jacobsen's classic chair no. 7. Each chair represents one of the seven deadly sins. The inspiration is taken from Danish bishop Jan Lindhardt's book about the Seven Deadly Sins in which he claims that the sins have become virtues in modern western society. The chairs are now on auction at Lauritz.com with all proceeds going to various humanitarian organizations (Red Cross, Unicef, etc). Johnny Slogan aka Thomas Von Staffeldt is the Copenhero artist behind the seven interpretations, and the chairs are donated by Fritz Hansen.
