We began weatherproofing the roof this week, despite a continued beatdown from Mother Nature. In between the snow and rain, we've been rolling out and torching down a SBS modified bitumen membrane (I know you want to say that 5 times fast) that should keep everything watertight. For aesthetic reasons, we've also foregone traditional eavestroughs in favour of an enclosed roof with hoppers at the corners. The hoppers have built-in strainers that will prevent large debris from clogging them, further reducing the likelihood of a leak.

House looks good!
The roof is being drained with flow control roof drains, not "hoppers".
Thanks Matthew - Indeed, I just did a quick Google search, and it would appear that they are "flow control roof drains"... however, I'm pretty sure the roofer called them hoppers. Either way, I know they're not eavestroughs ;)
